It is frustrating when you know you aren’t happy in your life but aren’t sure exactly what is wrong and you can’t figure out how to change things. It is painful when you feel like you are trying to communicate your feelings with your loved ones but they don’t understand you or past hurts keep you spinning in the same conversations. It is scary when you find yourself in patterns that you continually go back to that you know are unhealthy and dangerous.
You are not alone and there is help! Everyone gets stuck at some point in their lives in unhealthy patterns, relationships, and modes of thought. While this is completely normal, it can lead to a lot of unhappiness and sometimes even damage our self-esteem because we don’t feel like we are good enough or we feel like we are failing. In therapy, I believe in empowering my clients to identify their own worth and truth through a variety of research-based practices while still focusing on individualized care for each client. As someone with specific training in marriage therapy and family therapy, I especially love supporting families and couples in their efforts to change and grow together while providing an environment of safety and compassion.
